In July of 2002 I went to Sweden.

There are a shitload of pictures.

Bear with me folks

Well. Our flight left 8pm EST. We arrived at Jan and Eva's house around 8pm the next day. After this shot was taken we ate a quick dinner, then drove 2 more hours to the lake house. For those of you who are poor at math, thats over 30 hours of traveling.

Jan (my dad's cousin) and Eva (his wife) have pretty nice digs.

We actually kept going from there and drove a few hours to the lake house. Its built in the traditional Swedish style.

Foreign countries aren't so foreign. Look, a car show!

Actually, it was more of a car rally, where they drove around the countryside having to be on time at certain waypoints. At the waypoints they had competitions that counted towards their overall score. This one was making some traditional swedish flat bread.

Here are the rules kids. Hope you know Swedish.

Glad I didn't live HERE in 1842

Look, a Swedish sign! Says stuff about being a restaurant and having coffee, etc.

The place does have a shaweet view.

Obligatory shot of all present. (Left to right) Dad, Mom, Me, Deidrich, Gabriel, Jacob, (back down the other bench) Victor, Jan, Eva, Kristine, Yesta, Ruth

This place used to be a limestone quarry. It become unprofitable, but some smart guy figured out the place had perfect acoustics.

They can do Opera here without microphones.

more Sweden...
